Well, It is still possible to take care of your mind and mental health along with your busy schedule and too much responsibilities.  Health is a priority for living beings and each one of us should take care of the body and mind to feel fit and fine. A diseased or sick body and mind is less productive afterall, right?

Mental well-being is the most essential part of our life. It indeed becomes inevitable to boost our mental health in order to keep ourselves from any mental illness or disease.

So the question arises, How to improve our mental health? What can we do to bring mental awareness to self? How can we boost our mental well being.

The answer is- we need to be well aware of the mental health and some of the ways to help ourselves to improve our mental health.

So let us know some interesting ten ways to improve our mental health and try to live stressfree in this overforward world.

Top 10 ways to improve your mental health:

1. A brief pause:

The first and foremost yet simplest way to keep up your mental health sound and fine is to have a pause. A brief one.  Between your work or at home chores, take a quick 5-10 min refreshing break.  This actually reduces your physical exhaustion, at the same time, your mind also grabs those quick seconds to rest itself.  Take a deep breath and relax. Just do it between your busy routine, atleast for once.  While most of the people take advantage of the lunch break, the housewives are out of the picture in this matter.  They keep on moving their feet and blabbering to finish every other work that comes in front of them. This causes exhaustion and stressful response.

Whenever you feel, at work, things are out of control or any of your personal issues seem impossible to be tackled, try this out. It will normalise your body and mind and reduce the stress response.

2. Magic of Cold water:

When things are out of control, just open your fridge and have some cool or cold water, whatever you prefer.  Water helps to reduce the anxiety and fear.  Splash some cool water on your eyes and face. Pat it dry and relax.  Get down under some fan or AC and just take a deep breath before you restart.  Believe me, you will gain a bit of confidence to restart things or work out on a messy or difficult project.

3. Music heals us:

Listen to music for 5 minutes daily, a relaxing, a soothing one to calm you down. If you love listening to music and songs, you are already a caretaker of your mental health. Music therapy is one of the best therapy that lets you temporarily forget the troublesome situations and makes you feel relaxing and energetic.

Humming your favorite songs from your playlist or even singing on your own can do wonders. I am specially a lover of music and songs and when I am stressed or too tired, I just push on the Youtube Music on my mobile and steal my leisure time from my busy world.

4. Favorite drinks and beverages:

Though caffeinated drinks are not so much good for your health, I feel it is good to have such beverages in limited amount. It can freshen you up, stir up your brain, relax your mind and that's it.  If you love fresh juice, have some. By doing so, you are allowing your subconscious mind to wait and relax for the moment.  A part of your brain starts to relax and that is all we want, isn't it ?

5. Meditation is just a miracle:

While most of us are too lazy to sit and meditate, let me tell you it is a proven study that meditation actually relaxes your body and mind. It won't come to you out of the blue. You need to practise and master it and the day you are a pro in meditation, you will actually start enjoying its fruits.

Even if you are a new to meditation, simply sit with your eyes closed and tell your mind to stop thinking.  Thoughts are never ending and they continue even when we are asleep. Initially it might seem impossible but as you gain control over your mind over time, you would actually feel that your mind and thoughts are solely under your control and they just don't pop-up unncessarily unless you command your brain or mind.

Meditation is an art in itself. Meditation has its benefits on the overall health of the body as it relaxes both, body and mind. This is why because it works deeper within us and on the controlling mechanisms or hormones of our body.

Those who meditate are less prone to get stressed or mentally sick. Mediation helps them maintain the work-life balance in a stipulated manner.

Try to meditate whenever you have anxiety or fear or stress.  Meditation daily for 10-15 minutes can help you understand your own body and mind. Just sit, take a deep breath, relax and concentrate on your breath pattern.  Listening calm music while meditation can also boost relaxation.

6. Communication is worthy:

Nowadays, people are more involved in utiilizing the electronic gagdets and this makes them less communicating. Lack of communication often feels you with anger and other emotional disturbances. You are actually driving yourself away from other people such as your parents, spouse and family.  Get those precious five to ten minutes to communicate, to talk to them. Talk to your friends, your best friends.  Sometimes people just confine their troubles and worries to their little mind and the poor mind then starts to fear about the worst thing that could happen to them.

Just don't do that. Start talking to your people for few minutes daily. Talk to your kids and spouse before bed. If you have some problem, share with the trustworthy person and seek advice rather than tormenting yourself and your mind.  Be thankful to the persons who are there for you. Express yourself positively and have a pleasant milieu.  Love, share and care are the major elements of  family. Just live you family moment when around with them.

Most of the unusual accidents and cases of depression and anxiety are due to the fact that people were less communicative and kept more secrets confined.

Just breath free and seek the best of advice from your elders. They know the best and can actually show us some alternative or way to deal with the trouble.

7. Follow your passion:

Every man out there in this world has something unique or even if not unique, a sort of some passion or talent that is worthy to be followed. Follow your hobby in leisure; it is undoubtedly a 'me-time' and you would definitely enjoy doing it. When we are enjoying something, it means we are actually relaxing and happy doing that.  Your brain, your mind needs that badly. Listen to your mind and in your weekends or free time, just do that. Play some instruments, read books, pen down something, paint or brush your art, dance or hit gym and do some side hustle that can actually repay you in terms of sound or good mental health.

8. Mirror shows the reality:

Mirror man, It is an interesting thing you would all like to do. Stare at the mirror.  Ha ha!.But there lies a twist to it. Come on, we all know mirror shows our reflection, right? Ok, but what else could be done beyond seeing our reflection?

Every morning, freshen up yourself. When you wash your face just look in the mirror and notice something about you.  See the beauty you carry, see that beautiful smile. Just smile and see how it smiles back.  Look in the mirror and praise yourself: I am the best. I can do better today. Today is my day and I would surely meet my expectations.

Dress up yourself and again before leaving for work, take a quick glance of your mirror and speak up. I look great and I am happy. Just smile then.  Boost up your confidence and then go for your day.

Mirror speaking is just fabulous and I love self-talking in front of the mirror. I admire myself. I take  a deper dig into my personality when I face the mirror. I feel as if it speaks to me and tells me to be confident, self-determined and powerful at all times. I just love it. I appreciate it a lot. No matter what others have to say about you; your looks and personality or behaviour. You are just special and feel that uniqueness.  It helps you reduce the burden on your mental health by controlling your emotions.

Just try it out. It is as exciting and fun as doing your favorite pastime.

9. Hangout with your siblings or friends or family:

Everyone needs that chill-out fun time. Take leave from your work when you feel exhausted or not in sync with the things to work smoothly. Plan a mini-vacation with friends and family or go on a solo-trip to some peaceful place. Do whatever you feel is best for you.

Sometimes it is just a matter doing things differently. Plan your work in such a manner that you get time to hangout with your close friends. Friends are a treasure, indeed! Aren't they?  You feel light-hearted when you talk to them and open up your heavy-burdened hearts in front of them, hoping to get the best advice ever.  It is actually good, right? Take this wonderful opportunity to breath the open air and rejuvenate your mind and body and creating a perfect balance.

10. Maintain a diary or self-note book and pen down your thoughts:

It is a great way to express yourself, especially when you are a slim-speaker or introvert type of guy. It works wonders.  Write down your thoughts, your setbacks, your aspirations, limitations, strengths, goals and planning to execute.  Words are always more powerful. Do it if you love writing yourself.  It can help you relieve the mental stress and give you the alone-moments you wish to spend.  Some times we all need those me-only moments where we not need any interference or involvement of others. We need to introspect, talk to self, spend our me-time and feel great.

So, I hope these 10 top ways actually help you deal with your mental stress and let you live your life stress free and happy.  If you have any other ideas or ways that you specially use to promote your mental health, please do share in the comments. I would appreciate that!. Happy mental health.
