       Hair dandruff is really an annoying problem. No one likes that nasty white flakes on the hair scalp that spoil the look of your hairs. Dandruff is caused when there is dryness of scalp. Dryness of scalp may result from use of chemical shampoos, and oils, improper hair wash or excessive use of hair make-ups. 

Every person has different type of hair and the sensitivity of the hair scalps also vary from person to person. Scalp is often prone to dryness by use of chemicals or harmful products on the hairs. When our scalp is dry, we feel itching, and the resultant dandruff that arises into the picture is extremely difficult to manage. Hair dandruff does not go away quickly. So you need to have patience and follow home remedy on and on as and until your dandruff goes off. Not every home remedy may work for all. So first be sure by trying one remedy at once and sticking to it for some time to see the desired results. 


1. Use of lemon:

Why lemon to cure hair dandruff?

Lemons are rich sources of Vitamin C and thus help in healing, and replacing dead skin cells. On scalp lemon can have effective action, and it also helps balance the pH of our scalp skin. Lemon also acts a hair conditioner and many shampoos even have it as an ingredient. It helps revive the natural shine of hairs and make them smooth and silky. 

Optionally you can also use Vinegar solutions if you don't want to use lemons.

How to use: 

 Squeeze one to two lemons in a bowl. Strain the seeds and in the clear lemon juice mix some water and add few drops of coconut oil. 

Now mix it properly and using a cotton bud or fingers, whatever you prefer, massage this prepared liquid on your scalp. 

Pay attention to all the a scalp and specially the roots of the hair. You can use more lemons depending on your hair length also, if you wish to apply it on your hairs too. 

Leave it for 20 to 30 minutes. 

Rinse with plain water while just massaging. You can take any anti-dandruff shampoo of your choice and apply in very little amount.  

Wash your hairs and pat dry. 

It is good for both hairs and hair scalp. This remedy when done twice or thrice a month shows unexpectedly good results. You will start noticing that your dandruff is comparatively lesser and is reducing with each application.

2. Use of curd:

Why curd to cure hair dandruff? 

Curd has a natural soothing effect on your scalp and helps to moisten the dry scalp. It also reduces the pH and helps maintain normal pH. Curd is an ancient remedy for hair dandruff. Application of curd relieves itching and prevents skin from flaking. The hairs also get good conditioning by using curd. 

How to use: 

Take one bowl and take one to two teaspoon of curd. If you want to apply on hairs too, then take some more quantity of curd. 

To this curd, add few drops of lemon. You can also add aloe vera gel. 

Mix all the ingredients properly and apply on your scalp and hairs. Make sure to massage your scalp gently so as to get maximum benefits. 

Leave it for about 1-2 hours and then wash it off with shampoo and water. 

Pat the hairs dry. 

Curd remedy can be done once or twice in a month. It helps to reduce the roughness of the hairs and gives a natural shine to your hairs. You will notice curd actually works on your hair to cure your hair dandruff. 

3. Use of henna leaves/Henna mask

Henna is the most powerful ancient remedy for hair dandruff and it has some amazing benefits. You can make henna paste using natural henna leaves. The paste we prepare at home is free from chemicals and so we can get more benefits.  

Prepare some henna paste or get it prepared from the market. Add some buttermilk and aloevera gel to it. Mix the ingredients and apply this henna mask on your hair scalp. Create a nice bun of your hairs as you work on covering the whole scalp.  Your henna mask is all set to help you get rid of hair dandruff. Henna mask can be left for 1 to 2 hours. Wash the hairs gently with water and there is no need of shampooing it. 

For best results you can keep your hairs without oiling for two days and then oil it. This ensures your hairs get a good and natural color of henna. Many people use henna to color their hairs. It helps hide the grey hairs and enhances the beauty of your hairs. 

You can use henna mask once or twice a month. For best results use natural henna only. 

4. Use of Neem/Neem hair mask

Blend some handful leaves of Neem and water. Now add a tsp of coconut oil and mix all properly. Massage this preparation onto your scalp. Neem acts better on the scalp and helps get rid of hair dandruff. You can also add curd to this mixture to make it thick, which then becomes easy to apply. 

Apply all over on the scalp and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

5. Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera shampoos can be used to cure hair dandruff. You can also use aloe vera gel, mix a little bit of lemon juice into it and massage it gently on your scalp. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes and then wash it with water. Make sure to apply on dry hairs to get desired results.  You can use some anti-dandruff shampoo for hair washing along with this remedy. 

Repeat this twice or thrice a month. It really produces amazing results. 

Aloe vera has a very soothing action on our skin and scalp. It helps to regain the moisture and thus relieves scalp itching. It makes our hairs shiny and silky. Aloe vera have good medicinal properties and this may be the reason it also works for our hair health.
