Top 8 home remedies to get rid of acne

Acne can damage your beauty. It may irritate you as well. When the acne grow uncontrolled on face, it may be quite annoying. Some acne turn red and then into pus-filled lesions that leave scar marks on healing. The skin gets damaged and scarred.  So what can we do to get rid of the acne naturally at home and turn our rough acne-filled skin on the face, into a buttery silk smooth skin that we love to see in the mirror and admire ourselves.

Home remedies for acne

I had acne problem when I was a teenager and it almost filled my face with red-brown-black tiny bumps all over my face, some pimples hurting a lot even on the slightest touch. Huh! it was a very bad experience and specially, when I saw other girls flaunting their smooth face, I felt a bit awkward of my skin.  But then my mother had a solution to my acne problem which she had learnt from her mother.  So that's it!

Home remedies help a lot in calming down your acne and stop the eruption of other acne lesions. Acne medicines available in the market may help you get rid of the acne but many leave the scars in place and I personally don't recommend it to myself. I still prefer home remedies over any OTC medications for acne.

So here I have listed some amazing and super-helpful top 8 home remedies to get rid of acne that would definitely help you ease out the acne problem along with making your skin shine and glow even better than before.

So let's dive in......

Get beautiful and smooth skin at home

Home remedies for acne problem on face:

These home remedies are for acne on the face and please understand any home remedy takes time and patience to bring you results. If you are not patient enough and want quick results, I think the OTC medications are out there for you. SO go, get some for your face.

1. Water is the best home remedy. People with acne should drink enough water. Many times people are dehydrated and the skin starts losing the elasticity and the natural tone. Also dry skin may make you susceptible to skin infections. SO have at least 6-8 glasses of water in a day.

Apart from water intake, water must be used to clean the face. Use gentle tap water to wash your face. Acne are more commonly seen in people with oily skin or hyperactive sebaceous glands.  Washing face helps remove excess oils from the face.  In hot and humid seasons, make sure you wash your face thoroughly with mild natural soap or cleanser 3-4 times a day.

  1. Never use warm or hot water. Use luke warm. I prefer gentle tap water is the best.
  2. Always try to use a soap/cleanser that has natural ingredients. Chemicals may be harsh on your skin.
  3. Make sure you do not rub your face vigorously while applying cleanser on your face.  Rubbing hard can actually damage your acne and the surrounding normal skin.
  4. Always pat your face gently to wipe out the water.  Preferably use a soft cotton cloth and make a habit of having one's own towel/napkin.
  5. Use face cleansers such as face wash and serum as per your skin type.

2. Aloe Vera is the magical home remedy. It is best to have an aloe Vera plant in your house because the health benefits of aloe Vera are just so much amazing that you can't resist having one at home. IF you are having acne, aloe Vera can work like a magic.

Zinc, tea tree oil, coconut oil, olive oil, green tea extract, Witch hazel bark and Oatmeal masks can be used to get rid of your acne pimples and sores.   It is however not scientifically claimed how these remedies help and are effective or not.

Home remedies are more like trial and error elements.you need to do a trial test and notice yourself how and whether it has worked on you. The same remedy that has not worked for you and may have produced better results in other people. So don't get frustrated and opt for other home remedies to see which one acts better for your acne and skin.

Home remedies alone can't get you rid of your acne pimple and sores. You may need to choose out the healthy options in diet, eating less carbs and oils and taking a balanced diet. You may also need to change your lifestyle habits such as washing your hands and face properly, using oil-free gels and creams that are good for your skin, using a separate towel for washing face, following the skin care routine  and reducing stress.  Everything works together to get desired results.

Note: These home remedies may or may not work for you. It is always best to seek the help of your dermatologist if you have recurrent acne eruptions.

Xerophthalmia: Vitamin-A-deficiency eye disorder

What is Xerophthalmia?   Xerophthalmia is a progressive eye condition that results from severe deficient levels of vitamin A in the blood and is characterised by dryness of the eye.  Vitamin A is an essential micronutrient that nourishes our eyes. Good eye has good tear duct functioning. These changes in the cornea and conjunctiva start producing symptoms.  If not treated promptly it can lead to night blindness, formation of spots on the eye and...
